Within the First Order, the Praetorian Guards fulfil the same role as the Imperial Guards within the First Galactic Empire, founded by Sheev Palpatine at the end of the Clone Wars. They are therefore the direct heir to that tradition of closely guarding the ruler.
Praetorian Guards practice various martial arts with melee weapons. The Praetorian Guard thus consists of 4 pairs of warriors: 2 warriors armed with electro-bissento, 2 warriors armed with bilari electro-chainwhip, 2 warriors armed with vibro-voulge and finally 2 warriors (including the one presented here) armed with vibro-arbitrate.
